What Information Advice and support do we provide?

We can help children and young people on the following topics:

• Support after you reach 16 years old to prepare for adulthood
• Support in school and what that looks like
• What is the process for assessment for an Education, health and Care Plan (EHCP)?
• What is an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP)?
• What to do if you are excluded or at risk of being excluded from school
• Support when things go wrong – making a complaint etc
• Explaining the special educational needs system – who does what 
• Understanding what schools and colleges we have in our area
• Finding out about what support is available near you (the local offer)

How do we provide support?

• We have a range of Easy Read information sheets
• We can have face to face discussions with you
• We can help you to plan for meetings and attend meetings with you
• We can explain special educational needs processes
• We can help you to write letters/ and emails about your education needs
• We can help you understand what services there are.
