What Information Advice and support do we provide?
We can help children and young people on the following topics:
- Support after you reach 16 years old to prepare for adulthood
- Support in school and what that looks like
- What is the process for assessment for an Education, health and Care Plan (EHCP)?
- What is an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP)?
- What to do if you are excluded or at risk of being excluded from school
- Support when things go wrong – making a complaint etc
- Explaining the special educational needs system – who does what
- Understanding what schools and colleges we have in our area
- Finding out about what support is available near you (the local offer)
How do we provide support?
- We have a range of Easy Read information sheets
- We can have face to face discussions with you
- We can help you to plan for meetings and attend meetings with you
- We can explain special educational needs processes
- We can help you to write letters/ and emails about your education needs
- We can help you understand what services there are.
